The Virginia Industry Foundation (VIF) was organized as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2007.

Mission: To provide scientific educational information; compose, publish, and disseminate information and standards designed to advance industry and specific education; recognize industrial, scientific, educational, workplace, and environmental achievements; support technology intensive industry research and development; and serve as a central scientific, educational, and charitable resource for industry and the public.


The VMA Outreach program has been in existence since 1998 under the Virginia Manufacturers Association (VMA), transitioning to the Virginia Industry Foundation (VIF) in 2007.

Mission: To promote a better understanding of industry’s role in preserving the environment.

The Dream It. Do It. Virginia campaign is a franchise of the national Dream It. Do It.
campaign developed by the National
Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and The Manufacturing Institute (MI), and was brought to Virginia in 2007.

Mission: To encourage people to explore and pursue advanced technology careers in Virginia, like manufacturing, biotechnology, robotics, nanotechnology, aviation, energy, information technology, healthcare and more.


vectec

Vectec is a non-profit eServices solutions center of the Virginia Industry Foundation since 2010. Vectec has been an industry development service in Virginia since 1997.

Mission: To promote economic competitiveness and development by sponsoring, developing and implementing e-commerce services and programs, especially within rural areas. Vectec places a special emphasis on delivering e-commerce services to small and medium size businesses.


Grants Available Through VIF

Rural Virginia Advanced Manufacturing Skills Project: To train and retrain Manufacturing Technicians and World-Class Manufacturing Assessors in the tobacco-dependent localities of Southside and Southwest Virginia. This grant is available to both individuals and companies. Match funding for Vectec services is available to organizations in Virginia’s Tobacco Commission Region, Newport News, Norfolk,
